Board of Directors Screening Criteria

Screening criteria for the Enterprise Saskatchewan Board of Directors were developed to identify a well rounded Board that meets the following objectives:

  • Board members have networks with key stakeholders in the economy including business, labour, Aboriginal people, municipalities, co-operatives, post-secondary institutions, agriculture producers, and resource sectors;
  • Board members have strong governance experience;
  • Board members are team players with a demonstrated track record of working collaboratively with diverse stakeholders;
  • Board members understand economic development and factors influencing economic growth;
  • Board members have proven leadership in various sectors of the provincial economy;
  • Board members are innovative and forward looking;
  • Board members have a variety of management and leadership skills including financial, communications, legal, human resource development, strategic planning, international, and government relations;
  • Board members balance social development and environmental considerations with economic development;
  • The Board includes a mix of male and female members; and
  • The Board includes a mix of people from various regions of the province.

Officials from the Ministry of Enterprise and Innovation will assess the submissions and assign ratings based on the expertise and experience in each area.
