In January 2008, the federal government announced the $1-billion Community Development Trust Fund intended to help support activities that strengthen economic opportunities for communities negatively affected by global financial and commodity market disruption.
Saskatchewan's share of the this fund is $36.4 million over three years.
The deadline for submitting an application to Enterprise Saskatchewan for program funding has passed.

News Release – February 28, 2011 – Town of Big River Receives CDTF Funding
Enterprise Minister Jeremy Harrison today announced the approval of up to $2 million for a project in the Town of Big River under the Community Development Trust Fund (CDTF).
