Capital Investment Intentions

Saskatchewan led the country in investment intentions in 2008 at a record level of $14.0 billion – an increase of 20% over 2007. Several mega-projects are underway in the province, including a $1.9-billion expansion of the Consumers’ Co-operative Refinery in Regina and 10 potash mine expansions scheduled over the next several years at an estimated $9.3 billion.

New capital investment in 2010 is expected to exceed $15 billion for the first time ever.

2010 CDTF Funding Now Available

The government is calling on Saskatchewan communities that were adversely affected by the economic downturn to apply for funding from the Community Development Trust Fund (CDTF) for economic revitalization projects.
