Capital investment in Saskatchewan has almost doubled since 2005, growing at an annual average rate of 11.4%. New capital investment in 2011 is expected to reach $17 billion.
Several mega-projects are underway in the province, including a $1.9-billion expansion of the Consumers’ Co-operative Refinery in Regina and 10 potash mine expansions scheduled over the next several years at an estimated $9.3 billion.
